Cebu City, The Philippine Islands
Cebu City, The Philippine Islands avatar

Located in the Central Visayas region, Cebu City is not only the center of shipping traffic for The Philippines, but it’s also the place of first European contact starting with Magellan in 1521. As such, Cebu still houses the Cross of Magellan and the Santo Niño de Cebú. While the historia del catolicismo en Cebu is most prominent in the minds of scholars, Cebu’s history actually begins much earlier as it was part of the Rajahnate of Cebu of greater India – founded in the 1400’s by Prince Sri Lumay (half Malaysian and half Tamil-Indian).
